Day 47

Day 47 Reading – Leviticus Chapters 11-13

“But if, when the priest examines it, the mold has not spread in the fabric, the woven or knitted material, or the leather article, 54 he shall order that the spoiled article be washed. Then he is to isolate it for another seven days. 55 After the article has been washed, the priest is to examine it again, and if the mold has not changed its appearance, even though it has not spread, it is unclean. Burn it, no matter which side of the fabric has been spoiled.  Leviticus 13:53-55 NIV

Did you wash your hands?

Have you brushed your teeth?

Did you wash behind your ears?

Perhaps we have even … said “Look at this … what do you think? Should I see Doctor?”

We have asked or been asked these questions … Ok maybe not the last one, but we all have questions about what is good for us and what is bad.

God is complete in the care of His people … including the details of hygiene and personal care.  After all this is a new land and the people are no longer slaves.  They need direction.

So as odd as all the rules are they are very advanced for the time (over 3000 years ago) and show a level of care and concern that goes beyond …

Care that those goes beyond … that’s God’s love … always going beyond …

I am a United Methodist Pastor and have the privilege of serving as the Senior Pastor for the church of my childhood. I preach in a place I once was an acolyte. I love to preach, but more importantly I love to teach. I firmly believe that Faith Matters and should affect how we live. This blog is a place where I come to share the randomness that is life and faith ... and the intersection of the two.
