Day 110

Today’s Readings – Psalms 121, 123-125, and 128-130
    The LORD watches over you — the LORD is your shade at your right hand;
the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night.  Psalms 121:5-6 NIV
Our lives were changed a few years ago with the diagnosis that my wife has lupus.  We are learning what it means to live with this disease.

WeIM00Lupus_foundation_AMERICA are learning that the sun (and other UV light) can be damaging.

Our new home has a sunlight in the kitchen ceiling!
My wife worried that she would need to wear sunblock in order to cook.
So we placed a UV filter on the window – problem solved!
Through all of this we just learn and move on.
I can admit, I have never actually questioned God in all of this.
I haven’t actually included God much in the Lupus conversation … and then today …
God intervenes and speaks to me.
The LORD watches over you — the LORD is your shade at your right hand;
the sun will not harm you

Hmmm . . . So God is telling me, even though I did not ask, that He is there protecting us – protecting my wife. Wow!

Even in those moments, when we hesitate to ask God . . . God is there in our thoughts . . . hearing the concerns of our heart.

I discovered that today while reading the Bible.

If we will read his letter of love (the Bible) we can each hear God speak to us.

Thanks for the note today God.  I am humbled that you have heard my heart.

What concerns do you have today?

Try letting God know . . . He is listening.

I am a United Methodist Pastor and have the privilege of serving as the Senior Pastor for the church of my childhood. I preach in a place I once was an acolyte. I love to preach, but more importantly I love to teach. I firmly believe that Faith Matters and should affect how we live. This blog is a place where I come to share the randomness that is life and faith ... and the intersection of the two.
