Many are the plans in a person’s heart,
but it is the LORD’s purpose that prevails.

Proverbs 19:21

There is an old saying:  If you want to make God laugh . . . tell Him your plans!

God has a plan for your life. Knowing that and living that are often two different things.

God called me and set me a part for ministry when I was 14 years old, but I had other plans.  Plans to prosper me and such.

Twenty-six years later I discovered the peace that comes when God’s purpose prevails in your life.

I have learned to stop telling God my plans.

I have discovered the joy of seeking the places where God is at work and joining Him.

The questions remains for each of us : Are you still making God laugh?

Author:

I am a United Methodist Pastor and have the privilege of serving as the Senior Pastor for the church of my childhood. I preach in a place I once was an acolyte. I love to preach, but more importantly I love to teach. I firmly believe that Faith Matters and should affect how we live. This blog is a place where I come to share the randomness that is life and faith ... and the intersection of the two.
